LFP video about Wardsville’s barn quilts

Folk art to tell of town founder
By DEBORA VAN BRENK, THE LONDON FREE PRESS

Great little video in the London (Ontario) Free Press re: Wardsville’s barn quilts in the making. A couple or errors and omissions:

The International Plowing Match 2009 in Temaskaming did a big barn quilt project but it didn’t get a whole lot of media attention. So Wardsville’s effort is the second in Ontario. Meanwhile the wave of barn quilt folk art in the U.S. is rolling across the country. Just google “barn quilt” images to see some examples.

And the barn quilts are going up around Wardsville with in a 6 km radius, not sixty!

Omissions? Many kudoes and a huge thankyou to volunteers Steven Sitler, Chad, Bob Davis, and many others. We’ll post pictures and lots more information after the Wardsville Bicentennial on Father’s Day weekendis over.
